We know it sounds simple, but for some reason it feels like we’re back to this being a hard concept. The numbers are up, but we can make a difference if we hold each other accountable. What we won’t do is force people to do anything they don’t want to do because we also recognize that some people have medical and religious regions for not gettin an injection. What we can do is recommend something everyone can do to help prevent the spreading of this illness.
When you think about it, we don’t know what goes on in other people’s home. People have babies and children at home who if too young can’t even wear a mask. We have those who may care for their elderly parents. There are others who live with people who are immunocompromised. There are so many scenarios that could be taking place. If we put our mask on, it could help prevent someone from compromising their loved one’s health. You would think we wouldn’t have to write these types of pieces anymore. Some sites don’t want to talk about it anymore, but we are here to be the accountability partner you didn’t know you needed.
Now that more events are starting to happen, it’s important as planners we provide the safest environment for all attendees. Even if you’re in a state that doesn’t have a mask mandate, be a leader and implement mask wearing into your event to lessen the chances of the illness spreading at your event. Who wants the guilt of knowing their event was a super spreader? No one! You want your audience to reflect on the fact they not only had a great time, but they were safe while doing so.
As event planners, safety protocols can also be used as a branding opportunity. You can encourage clients to brand masks, hand sanitizer (hand sanitizer stations), floor decal, swag bags, etc. What better way to show your client’s audience you care about their safety than with the tools they need to protect themselves at the event and a reminder of who went all out to protect them. Who knew taking advantage of safety protocols could be such a benefit. Happy audience, leads to happy client. Happy client leads to returned business. It’s a win, win situation for everyone involved.
It all comes down to loving your neighbor as you love yourself. As humans, we have to care about one another, and care about each other’s safety. We can get in control of this insane situation, with one simple gesture. We know we keep saying it’s simple, but the numbers rising don’t reflect that. We here at Ax3 Studios will do our part to keep our clients safe and their audiences. So here’s that simple reminder one more time. Wear your mask.
