Welcome to the holiday season! Can you believe we are only 2 months away from the New Year?  It’s been an amazing year and while we could’ve went the event route for a blog this month, we decided to remind you all of something very simple, be kind.

Not that you need to be told, so consider this a gentle reminder. Here are a few random ways to practice kindness:

  1. Wear a mask.  I know you’re probably like how is this an act of kindness, but it is. You never know your neighbors situation.  What if someone you’re around has to take care of their elderly parents? Be kind by taking all safety precautions to be considerate. Someone around you could be a stranger as well, not just those you know.
  2. Volunteer. While cliche, every little bit helps.  The weather has changed, and people are in need of food, clothing etc.  Soup kitchens are open again, as well as shelters and other non-profit companies that service those that are less fortunate. Take some time out of your schedules to give back.
  3. Act of kindness — Things as simple as holding the elevator open, buying someone a coffee, opening the door for someone, sending a thank you card, or even helping an elderly person taking their groceries to their car. There are just super simple ways to demonstrate acts of kindness.
  4. To yourself.  It’s the end of the year, and the pressure is on.  You have projects to wrap, goals to meet and a New Years resolution list to complete.  The reality is, it’s ok if you haven’t completed everything on your to-do list. Things happen! It’s important not to be too hard on yourself. Discipline is important, but so is giving yourself some grace.

As we enter the last few months of the year, please be mindful of others, and mindful of where you are mentally. While there will be a focus on sharing, volunteering, etc.  If your schedule doesn’t permit, simply being kind is a great way to demonstrate holiday cheer!
